The building undergoing renovation consists of a loggia divided into ten bays and a central funeral chapel. Three private chapels and seven blocks containing 20 niches arranged in five rows overlook these bays. This symmetry is clearly visible on the façade, which features pointed arches and pilasters made of exposed stone and stone cornices. The top cornice of the façade is also made of stone and defined by a series of cornices. The single-pitched roof covering the two loggias is presumed to be entirely made of wood and brick, as can be seen in the last three bays of the right-hand loggia. In the left wing of the loggia, the bays are all false-ceilinged with painted flat floors. The roof of the central chapel is gabled with a wooden and brick floor where the framework can be seen. The extraordinary maintenance work involves the following:
– Dismantling of the roofing with possible recovery of the material (roof covering, brick tiles and hollow bricks, wooden beams and joists) that can be reused in the subsequent phase of reconstruction.
– Reconstruction of the roofing with the same material and dimensional characteristics as the existing ones, using new and, where possible, recovered materials.
– Installation of anti-fall systems on the roof under the tiles, as this is a listed building.
– Installation of false ceilings in the last three bays of the left block to bring them into line with the other bays of the left block.
– Plastering and painting.
