Palazzo Rotondi, named after a wealthy family that produced important figures in both the public and ecclesiastical sectors, was purchased in 1927 by the Municipality of Monteleone di Spoleto as a civic headquarters and is a protected property, pursuant to Legislative Decree no. 42 of 22 January 2004, as amended. The building has a rectangular plan, with sides measuring approximately 27.0 m and 14.0 m, and consists of four floors above ground with a pitched roof. the maximum height of the eaves and the ridge of the building are 13.30 m and 15.00 m respectively on the Via del Borgo side, and 14.60 m and 16.25 m on the Via dei Fossi side. The load-bearing structure is made of rough-hewn stone masonry, with solid or hollow sections and an internal filling core. The existing floors are of various types: brick vaults, brick and concrete floors, and steel beam and brick slab floors. The foundations of the existing building are direct and continuous masonry. Following the seismic events of 2016, the project involves seismic improvement works, such as the repair of cracks, reinforcement of load-bearing walls, wall ties, steel bracing, thermal insulation of the roof structures and the building and plant engineering work necessary for the new layout and functional configuration of the rooms, carried out in compliance with and preserving the original typological and architectural characteristics of the historic complex.
