The works carried out involved the “Construction of pavements and removal of architectural barriers on Street Trieste near the parish church” through the construction of a section of strong sandstone pavement, as required by the Superintendency, covering a length of approximately 96 metres, in addition to the renovation of the churchyard of the Pieve di San Pietro ad Mensulas, which effectively allows for the continuity of pedestrian traffic. The construction of the pavement involved the modification and setback of the existing boundary walls on the left side, through demolition and reconstruction, in order to allow for a road section adequate to accommodate the width of the pavement. The redevelopment of the churchyard of the Pieve di San Pietro ad Mensulas was carried out using recycled antique sandstone, suitably worked, in accordance with the requirements of the Superintendency of Cultural Heritage. Overall, the renovation of the churchyard and the construction of the section of pavement adjacent to the parish house courtyard in the direction of Via Sant’Elia has completed and made functional the pedestrian connection with the centre of Pieve, eliminating the current architectural barriers. To complete the work carried out on the churchyard of San Pietro ad Mensulas by the Municipal Administration of Sinalunga, the Parish of San Pietro ad Mensulas then installed lighting on the façade and redeveloped an area to the side of the church, paving it with pietra serena stone.
